Roll Plated
What is it?
Roll-plating is a method of applying colour and effects to metal items such as buttons, plaques, and more. It is done by placing the metal trim and plating colour in a rotating drum/cylinder, which ensures an even covering. This can produce different effects depending on things like how much embossing or debossing is on the product.
Best suited to…
Ideal for smaller metal trims with simpler designs and shapes.
Whilst some rack platings are still shiny, their finish is not as smooth and uniform as rack plated items, which works for certain styles of garments.
This method has a lower cost than rack plating and works well for short leadtimes on large quantity orders.

Rack Plated
What is it?
Rack-plating produces a very different look to roll-plated products. It is done by placing each metal trim on a rack, which is then fully coated in the plating colour. This produces smooth, high-shine effects.
Best suited to…
This method works well with larger, more delicate items.
Rack plating is best for garments that need trims with a smooth shine.
This is a higher cost option with slightly longer lead times as more labour is involved.

Debossed toggle ends add extra personalisation.
