Sustainable woven labels
Creating a truly sustainable product boils down to the finer details, such as the labels sewn inside. We have a range of sustainable materials, which Wed2B benefitted from when we helped to make their branded standard synthetic labels more eco-friendly.
From concept to finish, we’ll help you design labels that leave a lasting impression.

Woven or printed labels?
The right choice comes down to feel, detail and cost. Woven labels give a premium, durable finish and suit main brand labels and size tabs. Printed labels handle fine detail and photographic colour at lower cost and faster turnaround, which makes them a strong fit for shorter runs and complex artwork.
Woven
- Premium, durable finish
- Suits most label needs, from main labels to size tabs
- Cost-effective across volume
- Wide material range, including recycled, recyclable and biodegradable yarns
Printed
- Photographic and CMYK printing for fine detail
- Laser cut to any shape
- Silicone print for a raised, tactile finish
- Full-bleed printing to the label edge
- Faster turnaround on shorter runs

Truly sustainable sourcing
A large portion of carbon emissions comes from the logistics in the supply chain. Our sustainable stitch-to-store sourcing model aims to minimise this impact.
With global distribution centres, we can ship your chosen labels directly to your vendor from the facility that’s closest to the destination. We’ll also handle all the stock management, so you have less to deal with.
Your woven label supplier, from design to delivery
Weavabel has supplied branded trims for over 40 years to more than 900 brands across 60 countries. As your label supplier, we manage sourcing, quality, and stockholding, shipping from the distribution centre closest to each of your vendors.
Why choose Weavabel?
Minimum stock value
Our minimum stockholding value is £10,000 annually. This can be set up across multiple currencies and for several locations.
Fast delivery
A quick turnaround of your stock, with lead times typically taking between two and four weeks.
Hassle-free orders
Simple repeat ordering through our stockholding site, making your products easily accessible.
Great communication
We’ll liaise all the finer details directly with your vendors, giving you one less thing to manage.
Managing labels across your supply chain
Running one label across multiple factories is where consistency slips. Our Account and Quality Control Managers approve every label against a strict set of guidelines, wherever it's produced. Each order then ships to your vendors from the nearest distribution centre, so the same trim arrives to the same standard whatever the location. We handle stock management and reordering, and every order traces back to source, which supports your compliance and sustainability reporting.
Alongside woven and printed labels, we also offer heat transfer labels for a tag-free finish and swing tags to extend your branding beyond the garment.
Frequently asked questions
What eco materials can you offer woven labels in?
We offer woven labels in cotton, organic cotton, bamboo and tencel.
Are your qualities certified?
We have a range of certified materials, including FSC, GOTS, GRS, Carbon Neutral and more.
Are your recycled polyester label yarns made from post- or pre-consumer waste?
They’re available in both and depend on the manufacturing location.
What inks do you use for printing?
We predominantly use vegetable and soy-based inks rather than chemical-based inks. This may vary, so always discuss with your Premium Account Manager.
Are there any alternatives to recycled polyester or organic cotton?
Yes, we offer many more materials for labels, including cotton, bamboo, tencel, viscose, poly-wool, poly-cotton, satin and tyvek.
What are woven labels?
Woven labels are brand tabs and labels with the design woven from polyester or cotton thread, rather than printed. They give a premium, durable finish and are the standard choice for main brand labels and size tabs. Unlike care labels, which are primarily used to display washing instructions and garment information, woven labels are designed to showcase and reinforce your brand identity.
Woven or printed labels, which should I choose?
Choose woven for a premium, durable brand label, and printed where you need fine detail, photographic colour or a faster, lower-cost run. Many brands use both across a single garment.
What are your minimum order quantities and lead times?
Can you supply labels for ongoing production runs?
Yes. We hold your approved labels in our warehouses and ship to your vendors on repeat order, with stock management handled for you, which suits brands producing in continuous or seasonal runs.
Are care labels legally required?
For most apparel sold in the UK, EU and US, care, fibre-content and origin information is a legal requirement. Weavabel produces compliant care labels alongside your branded labels.
